That's right, there is a new version available. This time the new feature is called "copy mode". You can read all about it on the blog. Just to give you an idea, it's the easiest way to collect quotes from websites. All complete with quote, timestamp and link for future reference.
I would love to hear what you think of it.
Version 1.0 is here! As promised it contains the long awaited search functionality. Happy digging in your notes. :)
With the anouncement of this release I told you that there will be a great new feature. So without further ado I present to you the Quick act feature. It allows you to perform websearches for the currently selected text from any program. Just press CTRL + Caps Lock and a google page with the search results will open up.
In case you were wondering how to remember all the commands and shortcuts. Snippets has now a cheat sheet.
Apart from the new features installation has become also really easy due to the setup routine. If you prefer zip archives over the installer, don't worry. It is still avaialable in the download section.
And one more thing. You can try snippets for 30 days before you decide to buy it. Go ahead and try.
Finally the big version 1.0 release is coming closer. There have been many tweaks to improve usability and the often wished for search option.
But that's not all. There's also a completely new feature of which I'm sure you're going to love. If you'd like to know more subscribe to the newsletter (over to the right) and get access to the preview.
The german IT-service and webdesign company Clayhouse got a snippets license. Now everybody working there can get hold of their ideas in an instant.
Absolutely amazing! A whole company is using snippets.
So if you plan on getting a new network installation or web presence visit their site here.
The author of the lemonbits blog (it's in german) wrote a review about snippets. In spite of her disapproval of disabling the caps lock key she really liked it. It feels good to read posts like this. :)
I was made aware of an issue with the HTML export and Googles Chrome browser. With the latest version 0.3.9.2 this is fixed.
After the beta pahse I'm very excited to show off the latest improvements to you.
First the visuals. I created a new start screen, which is much nicer to look at. And when you run snippets for the first time you'll get a friendly hint where to find the tray icon. For your daily enjoyment I changed the input frame to a slicker form. Let me know what you think about it.
Now for the features. The biggest change is the handling of tags. Just like the hastags from twitter you put a # in front of your tag and it's done. Naturally you can filter for tags. Otherwise tagging wouldn't make that much sense, would it? ;)
Another feature is the backup command. It allows you to create a copy of the snippets database so you can store it on your back medium. You do make regular backups right?
Those are the major changes, amended by a lot of small tweaks to make life easier for you.
I'm proud to announce that snippets has reached 0.3.9 beta. This version introduces tags for your entries. Any word starting with a # is a tag, it works pretty much like hashtags in twitter. Naturally you can filter for tags too. And since links and email addresses are quite common, those entries are automatically tagged with #link or #email.

Snippets was mentioned over at toolblog.de (german) it is a german productivity blog with lots of intresting hints.
Perhaps you guys have also some suggestions for improvements. I'd be more than happy to hear them.

This time you can put tags inside your notes and since tags wouldn't make sense without using them you can apply filters and hide all non-matching entries.
